2010-06-21 08:40

Dakhalia, the Egyptian association, organized the national World Hepatitis Day activities in Egypt together with the Ministry of Health, the Association of Liver Patient Care, The National Committee of Hepatitis Treatment and the media.

A meeting was held where Prof. Gamal Shiha, the president of the association, welcomed the guests. The governor of the Dakhalia province then held a speech.

15 patients presented their personal stories. Each patient presentation lasted about 4 minutes, and was followed by a comment by an expert for two minutes.

Patients and other members of the audience were then able to ask their questions and receive answers from the top hepatologists in Egypt in a 90 minute session. A visit to the Liver Research Institute in Dakhalia was also organized on World Hepatitis Day.

Several TV channels covered the event. (Dream TV, O TV, Orbit TV, Mehwar TV, etc…)
