Info-hep center on the field in November

Our project called “With available service to happy community: Info-hep center on war affected areas in Zadar County“, which was carried out with financial contribution from PSGO, is gradually coming to an end, according to the project plan and planned activities.
On 3rd November 2009, Hepatos held a public stand and lecture on subject viral hepatitis in the multimedia hall of the city library in Benkovac. There were 23 participants, mostly from the war veteran association from Benkovac, representatives of district war veterans associations. The lecture was held by dr. Marija Pupic Bakrac from the Croatian National Institute of Public Health in Zadar, who also conducted the screening as a part of the InfoHep centre terrain visit.
On 6th November 2009, in public health centre in Gracac was held InfoHep centre terrain visit, which was used to offer free and anonymous testing and counselling to all who were interested. The activity was conducted in cooperation with dr. Marija Pupic-Bakrac from the Croatian National Institute of Public Health in Zadar.
On 13th November 2009, we also organized a lecture about viral hepatitis and testing in the medical school in Zadar. The Lecture was also attended by representatives from Medical school Zadar, General Hospital Zadar, a woman association from homeland war, members from independent war veterans from Zadar county and members from Croatian war veterans associations – Zadar. The lecture was held by dr. Miro Morovic, virologist from the general hospital in Zadar. In the media, this event was accompanied by the Zadar journal and VOX TV.
Through these three InfoHep centres 60 persons were tested, out of which 3 tested positive for hepatitis C, 1 tested positive for hepatitis B and 1 tested positive for HIV.
