FibroScan at the 6th Croatian Congress on Infective Diseases

FibroScan is a medical instrument which, during the 5-minute examination, painlessly measures elasticity and a degree of liver damage. It was presented at the 6th International Croatian Congress on Infective Diseases in Sibenik 24-27 of October 2009.
The presentation was organized by CATIH Hepatos and the Section for Viral Hepatitis of the Croatian Society for Infective diseases.
During the two congress days 3 workshops, with 28 volunteering patients, had been held. They were targeted for specialists to introduce them with the instrument's operation. The workshops were organized by the Hepatos were wonderfully attended and have gained much interest, not just in congress participants but also in hepatologists.
Through presenting this instrument that can replace some liver biopsies to virologists and gastroenterologists, the Hepatos wishes to contribute to ensuring equal condition for diagnosing and treatment of viral hepatitis in Croatia and encourage multidisciplinary way in treatment and cross sector cooperation which is adhering to the Resolution in fight against Viral Hepatitis and suggested conclusion of the Parliament Committee for Health and Social Welfare. Hepatos participated in the Congress by organizer's invitation, and took the opportunity to present its work on the stand with promotional materials of the Association.
